Hi everyone,
I'm new here and was hoping to learn more information about how people go about cooking in their vans. My name is Ryan Koester and I'm a college student going through Cal Poly. I'm working on a project to make compatible portable stove top for those cooking outside a house! I'd really like to learn more information about how cooking devices are currently used and stored as well as any features you particularly like or dislike about your current cooking set up such as having compartments for storage or the type fuel source used. Any information would be extremely appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

Greetings!

I use kerosene because it's cheaper and safer than propane.  I started out with a dual burner portable model, so it could be used both inside and outside without duplication.  Later I switched to two single burner units to better accommodate larger pans or my portable folding oven.

I find that flame control with a wick type burner is much better than with pressurized burners too.

Cheers!

Hi

Good luck on your course.

Not thought about cooking yet, but very interested... To be honest, worried about cooking in a space so small...

BUT I would be looking for something could fold away after use, like a pop up cooker if you will?  Something that would also not be to heavey to carry around, simple to use and safe.  That really worries me if am honest.  Would rather eat raw that cook in a small space.

Cost would also be an issue, not cost of product, if it's good I'll pay, but cost to run it and keep it in good condition and of course clean.

Hope that helps.
