Title: Aloha!!
Post by: Shanti_6 on December 25, 2017, 04:31:15 PM
Hey everyone, I'm so glad I found this site!

I live on the Big Island of Hawaii and recently bought myself a full size Chevy conversion van. It's a 1996 Express 1500 and as of now it is cozy enough with the bare minimums but, I would love some help and ideas to make it be more comfortable and fun.
Traveling around the island is great and very liberating! When I was young I lived in a motor home all around the states and Mexico, and I think that one of the best feelings is waking up in a new place.

All the best for now 🤙🙂

Greetings, Welcome, & Merry Christmas!

I'm glad you found us too, because that's exactly what we're here for.

I personally have been living on wheels for many years, have had the opportunity to visit many gatherings, and have helped numerous people with their conversions.  While I can't help you physically since I'm on the mainland, I look forward to offering as much help as I can remotely.

Even though I'm still working full time, there is still something magical about living on wheels, and being able to take my home to the most beautiful and exciting places on my time off.

I work vacation relief, and while I travel with the weather to different locations for my job, I get usually get stuck in the coldest locations during the winter, and the warmest during the summer.  The high temperature here today is 20 degrees below zero.  Boy does Hawaii sound great!  Actually it's always Hawaiian tempertures in my van during the winter, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

My home is my refuge so that no matter how nasty cold, or blazing hot it gets outside, I always have a comfortable retreat awaiting my arrival.  My humble home might not look like much on the outside, but hiding inside is a most marvelous place.  It's 75 degrees inside, with my Christmas ham and scalloped potatoes in the oven.  My gift to 8 of my fellow coworkers who are here now, who also live on wheels, is Christmas dinner.  Like me, they have no family close by, so we form our own, and make our own Merry Christmas.

Give a shout for anything you need my friend, and I will be happy to help.  Life can be an amazing journey if done right.

Happy Holidays,

Dan
