Newbies saying hi!
« on: December 04, 2017, 09:47:52 PM »
Hey guys!
Me and the mrs have just bought an 02 plate LDV Convoy minibus to convert over winter for adventures next summer.
Thought we would just say hello here, as the forum has already been most helpful. Anyone else here have LDV's?
Where would be best to start a build thread please?
Cheers, Twitch

Greetings & Welcome!

I'm in the USA, so just to clarify, when you say minibus do you mean a passenger bus with windows all around?  If it is, do many or most of them open?  If they do, you are way ahead of the game right from the start.

Is the interior in acceptable condition?  If it is, you have just saved a ton of work and money.  You may be able to just remove the rear seats, and be ready to move your new interior in.

Not sure which thread to point you towards, because everybody's vans, and wishes are different, but I have personally converted many vans myself, been involved in the conversions of dozens of others, and live in a self converted window van myself...

I should be able to walk you through everything, offering you multiple options, choices, and recommendations.  I've made practically every mistake possible over the years, but learned from every one of them.  My camper van today, which I have now lived in for 10+ years is the most comfortable, convenient, and functional space I have ever lived in.  I have overcome ALL of the obstacles that cause most people to fail in this lifestyle.

Good Luck, and feel free to ask anything.  No question is a dumb question if you don't already know the answer.

Cheers!
