Post by: atlas on January 20, 2016, 08:00:58 PM
when traveling in portugal and spain, do you think it is safer to park overnight in the village square or in a quiet country road. remember these countries all have bars on their windows so how much crime are in these countries and are we really safe to travel free. your thoughts please.

Lived in Spain for over 8 years, the reasons why the bars are there is they are open most of the summer, day and night. Wild parked from Lisbon to Gib, up thru Sitges and over to Santander, no probs.
Been doing this for over 20 years, just stay street wise and suss each place out.

I wouldn't take the bars as an indication of the countries being any more dangerous.
