Hello all, I am new to the forum, we are currently building our campervan with a view to setting off on our travels in the new year, I am looking to install a tracker system on the van, any advice as to which systems are best would be gratefully received.

I employ 2 different methods with my van.

First, I have a hidden cut off switch, so the van can't be started without finding it and flipping it on. 

Second, I have an old hidden cell phone, wired in permanently to keep it charged.  I can get it's GPS coordinates from any computer and all I need to know is the phone number.  It's a prepaid phone, and does not start using minutes until it is actually used.  The ringer on the phone is turned off, so as not to alert anybody if I'm trying to locate it.  I use a free cell phone locater app to find it.

I also use a steering wheel lock as an obvious visible deterrent, as well as keeping nothing of obvious value within sight.  My van looks like an unoccupied camper van to anyone looking through the windows, because all of my belongings are hidden from view.  I want people to be able to see inside and see nothing of value worth breaking in for...
