Title: Buying a campervan- what to look out for?
Post by: A Brilliant Gamble on October 30, 2017, 08:36:28 AM
We are looking at a campervan today (VW t25 Hightop 1989) to travel around Europe next year with 2 dogs, one adult and one child. We are taking a 12 month sabbatical! We won't be living in it full time as we will also Airbnb. But we will be in it 3-7 days at a time getting to new locations. And it will be our car for the year of course too.

Any advice on questions we should ask or things we should check on the van before buying it. The current owner has pointed out a few problems (fridge not working). But what else might be red flags for us?

Bit urgent as we are viewing this afternoon!!

Thanks!!

Greetings & Welcome!

Aside from making sure it both runs and drives good, rust, leaks, mold, and a lack of opening windows for adequate ventilation come to mind.

Make sure there is adequate seating for everyone, with seat belts, and having windows with a view are very important especially for children.

Good luck & keep us posted!
