Hello, my wife and I plus our little dog are setting off camper vanning around Europe in August this year for approx. 12 months, we are trying to work out spending budgets and after reading various blogs it seems that a budget of around £200.00 (food/petrol/campsite fees etc...) per week is about par for the course.  I would welcome any feedback from experienced travellers as to whether that is feasible.  I realise that wild camping is a good way of saving cost and we will be looking to do that once we find our feet and settle in to our trip.  Thanks in advance for any advice given.

£200.00 per week sounds pretty low to me when you're including gas and camping fee's in there.  Both gas and camping fee's can add up very quickly, depending on how much you're traveling, and the campground fee's.

Doon't forget entertainment costs, possible vehicle repairs, etc. etc.  I would at least double that amount, and even then it might be a tight budget at times.  Eating good is very important, and when traveling part of the enjoyment is eating out at different locations and enjoying the local cuisine.  Eating out can add up fast too.

If money is an issue, I'd make the trip shorter but more enjoyable by having plenty of money to spend on enjoyment.  Money shortages can ruin the enjoyment on a vacation like this.  Beans & rice doesn't make for a fun vacation.  I've been known to spend $100 a week just on campfire wood, and that's only about 4 hours a night worth of campfire.

Good Luck & keep us posted!

Managing expenses while on the road can vary based on factors like the countries you visit, your lifestyle preferences, and any unforeseen circumstances. However, £200.00 per week sounds like a good starting point.
