Title: Hows about some van living top tips
Post by: Gee on February 04, 2015, 11:28:48 AM
I'll start the ball rolling. Feel free to add yours

I love tortillas. Last for ever, take up very little room and great as plate liners for a stew, curry or pasta dish. Result very clean plates after your scran. Quick wipe with old newspaper usually does it.....Just got me thinking. Sheet of newspaper then tortilla then your scran. No plates? I'll give it a try and post back

Don't use newspaper the print is toxic. Just eat out of the cooking utensils if you really wanna go basic. Mind you paper plate are dirt cheap and you could probably use them a few times, try Poundland. :'(

Keep everything portable so it can be used both indoors and out.

Individual solar powered and hand crank items like lanterns, radios, etc. can save you money on batteries, and be easily moved to where you would like to use them.

Inverters waste power, almost everything is available in 12v models.

Screens for your windows and a solar powered bug zapper can make your life better.

Being prepared beats being miserable.

Nothing beats a good bushcraft knife - a myriad uses. A good basic knife fit for many basic purposes is made by Mora of Sweden. Expect to pay about £15.
