Hi everyone,
I'm new here and was hoping to learn more information about how people go about cooking in their vans. My name is Ryan Koester and I'm a college student going through Cal Poly. I'm working on a project to make compatible portable stove top for those cooking outside a house! I'd really like to learn more information about how cooking devices are currently used and stored as well as any features you particularly like or dislike about your current cooking set up such as having compartments for storage or the type fuel source used. Any information would be extremely appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

To be honest, if I'm too laze I just pop everything in the microave but I also have an electric stove just with one burner but that would require special arrangement for the wiring.

Greetings!

If it is going to be used outside the house, it should be non-electric.  There are already many types of fuel powered camping stoves and grills etc. available.

A better project would be to provide non-solar, non-battery, non-fuel, based power 24/7/365.

Cheers!

Hi! I usually try to microwave as much as possible mostly because I am lazy, but an honest recommendation in regards to a stove - don't go electric!

Hi there, I've just written a blog post about this exact thing here:

We basically do everything in a frying pan and 1 saucepan and use an Omnia Oven for baking and anything which requires baking.

Greetings and Welcome!

Nice article but very difficult to read.  The print is way too small, too thin, and not dark enough.  Even blowing it up 200% on my laptop it was a difficult read.  I didn't check out any of your other articles for that exact reason.

I'm a fulltimer, and I carry 3 ovens myself, a coleman style folding oven that folds flat when not in use, a cast iron Dutch oven, and a rarely used Omnia style oven, although not an Omnia brand.

I usually only use them if I'm cooking for a group at a get together.  For just me, my cast iron frying pan and sauce pan, both with lids, are my normal way of cooking.  I prefer cast iron because it can also be used with a campfire.

Cheers!
