Common Room / Kickstarter project
May 17, 2015, 01:28:12 PM
A big shout out to those who are backing my project. Thanks. Many thanks
Ive 3 days to go to reach £500 and 3 days to go for your chance to receive a postcard and novelty gift from my travels.
The way in which Kickstarter works is if people pledge money and i reach the target of £500 then the money will go towards the project of sending you out postcards If i Dont reach the £500 then no money comes out of anyones account and no postcards get sent and those that have backed my kickstarter dont have to pay up. Its an all or nothing crowd funding project.
There has been a change to the plan because the van you see in the video had to be sold on as it was a pile of shite.  :D Thats life i guess
So im now starting again with a Luton transit. I have less than 15 days left in bricks and mortar when tenancy finishes and then im on the road. In a bare empty shell of a van that has not yet been kitted out pmsl.
If you would like to back my project or learn more about my travels whilst helping me to get the van kitted out then please visit the link below.
Thanks again to those who have already backed it.

Living and travelling... in a van / Re: Insurance
May 14, 2015, 11:50:28 AM
Ive recently bought a Luton Transit ( having a few starting issues with it but we wont go there on this thread) :(
Anyway after making several phone calls around all the insurance companies I found that Adrian Flux is one of the best. They offer breakdown cover from anywhere Uk and Europe. They are not too expensive. Though in my opinion insurance is a scam and the money would be better in my pocket than theres but hey ho  - thats the law
My policy covers me for doing up the van as i travel.  Campervan conversion..
The breakdown cover was what encouraged me to go with them. You just never know when you are going to need it.
Helps if you have no claims to use or to mirror over from one policy to another.
One guy ive been speaking to though has had an awful lot of issues insuring his swb transit van due to it being his only vehicle. For some reason insurance companies like to see that its not just a van you have running and that you own a car too  :-\

Hi there Im new to the forum but by no means new to Vandog traveller. Ive been following Mikes progress since he started his journey and have to say im impressed with his site photos and stories of his journeys.

I am the off grid artist and this year im taking off in a van to tour Europe with my dog Yuri.
Im looking forward to hearing from other van dwellers and nomadic people and perhaps make a few friends along the way.
Bye for now
