Van Conversion / Re: Mosquite Netting

Ah, good call on putting the magnetic strips inside, I also foind that I needed to super glue the strips to the netting, I'll also do that with the magnetic strips too.

Cheers for your post, think this'll work much better than velcro inside which was my backup plan :)

Van Conversion / Mosquite Netting
October 05, 2017, 02:24:45 PM
hi all

My 'conversion' is going well, however I am wondering what other vanners do with mosquito netting so they can sleep with the window open??

As I am travelling with Bongo (Dog) I am keen to take all precautions against Leishmaniasis. Prevention is better than cure so keeping B inside the van from dusk til dawn shouldn't be an issue and he'll have a collar in case he does get bitten.

ATM I am thinking that some netting with magnets stuck to one side and then place on the rear outer door and window (it's a Peugeot Partner MPV) and then not use that door during the night. That way we can have a (pop open) window or 2 open while we sleep...

Interested to hear what others have done :)

Common Room / Hi From Andrew & Bongo!

Hi there!

This is B and I: https://1drv.ms/i/s!AmJpNDhugDrVw1ns831SIZIF7PDD
and I have spent the last year living off a minimal amount of cash to maximise my savings! I have also sold all stuff I haven't used for 6 months and now all my furniture!
So, in 6 weeks I leave my job and house (which I'll rent out for a small income) to head south with B in this beaut: https://1drv.ms/i/s!AmJpNDhugDrVxA7hq75sa3Yzk9aR

We're leaving around the start of November and only spend a couple of days in France before driving down the east coast of Spain. Planning to use free camping areas next to beaches and then get down to the south coast by December. Then hit Cadiz, Seville and Cordoba before threading our way into the Algarve and up the Portuguese coast, due back in UK around mid-March :(

We love hiking and running (but hiking more) and will hit plenty of coast paths and mountains for a good old yomp around!

By the way I'm 39 and from Exeter, Bongo is 6 and from Okehampton!

Maybe see some fellow 'vanners' around this winter...? :)

Hasta Luego x
