Hi Rosie! I'll be working in Haarlem over this Christmas/New Year in the band for the Herman Renz Wintercircus. If you're in the area we should meet up and chat music, vans and life

Common Room / Hello! Circus musician with first van. NEWB.
October 16, 2016, 07:36:18 AM
Hello lovely van-lifers. After several months of searching 24/7 I am (almost, deposit paid, coming home on Monday) now the owner of a 1997 LDV Convoy who I've decided to name 'Nana'. She's a lovely minty green - Nana means mint in Serbian. Nana is also the name of the dog in Peter Pan who cares for for Darling family. Yes I am the sappiest.
So she's my first van AGH! but as a circus worker it's not the first time I'll have lived in a tiny space on wheels. Actually she will feel like a palace in space compared to my tiny wagon bunks I've had previously. She has work to do but hoping to take her to my next contract in Holland this winter (already have accommodation in a chalet sorted but driving over in her and doing some Home Improvements whilst I'm there) and hopefully have her ready for living in to work around Denmark for 6 months in 2016.
She's some work to do but everything is there, just needs a good tidy and some futureproofing.
Looking forward to getting stuck in and getting to know some more vandwellers

Living and travelling... in a van / Re: hammock not the best solution?
October 16, 2016, 07:24:56 AM
I'm going to test out hammock to see if it's viable long term. I don't want to convert seating area every night (even though I currently do that in a small studio apartment haha!). I'm only 5ft tall so if the hammock doesn't work out I'm planning on installing a pull down of some kind. We'll see how it goes. I hang out in hammocks for a living though so I may be biased :p
