Title: Fiat Scudo
Post by: Clayman on March 27, 2015, 06:52:42 PM
At the moment I just work on the weekends so have alot of time on my hands, so during the week I intend on doing a bit of travelling. At the moment I don't intend living fulltime in a van so I'm after a van that's not too big but not small, anyway I've looked at a few Scudo's where I live and wanted some input. Most have done around 100,000 miles and priced around 1,500 and roughly 10-14 years old. I am open to other vans of the same kind of size just happens to be a glut of Scudo's up for sale near me.

The Citroen Dispatch and the Peugeot Expert and the Fiat Scudo are all essentially the same van, identical size with the same 1.9 diesel engine. Expect very good economy from these vans.

OK so you can't stand up in them - big deal, but for the odd weekend away when most of your time will be spent out of the van - I think they're a good choice.

Attach a tent to the back of it and you've got bags of room. I know of at least one guy who took one of these down to Europe (touring around) simply because of the fantastic fuel economy (just under 60mpg). Plenty big enough in the back to put a bed in and a little camp kitchen.

Your price quoted seems high however given the age of these vans now. I would normally expect to pay well under 1,000 for one with a full MOT and certainly no higher than 100,000 miles on it, mind you having said that these 1.9 diesel engines are usually good for at about 250,000-300,000 miles. The bodywork will clap out well before the engine does. Just make sure you find out what kind of use it had when it was being used as a van by the last owner.

Hi, there i have Citroen Evasion (Synergie) its similar to Scudo in Poland and with my wife last year we travel around Poland. It is not easy to live in car with this size but not impossilble. On the back between wheels its 1,20m and from back to first seat its 2.0m with height around 1,20m. I think it is a good car for traveling beacuse their fuel economy around 6,2-7l/100km. In this year we build a something like frame under mattres so we can have mattres and luggage on back. And in August we traver acros Germany/Belgum/Luxemburg/Netherland.

We are going to have something like this:
