Title: Weight of Ford Transit 150 lwb conversion
Post by: Antje on March 23, 2015, 11:22:06 AM
Can anyone tell me what the weight of this van is, would it be in the 3500 - 7500 kg range?   It is shown as:   Taxation Class -PLG;   Body type -Motor Caravan    in the Reg Document.  Would this be classed as a medium sized vehicle under C1 for driving licence purposes?  Many thanks

It would be in the 2900-3500.

After I converted mine I filled it with diesel, 40litres in the water tank, and loaded it for a couple of weeks away. Sat the sig. other half in her seat and trundled down to the local weighbridge, came in at 2700 kilos. Total road going weight for a LWB Tranny is about 3500. So well pleased, especially as the French plod like to waste time poking about if they stop you.
The lighter materials you use for converting the better, it really does mount up if you like your luxury's.
