Title: How To Level A Very Uneven Floor
Post by: aalberini on September 20, 2018, 12:14:16 AM
So all the floor installation videos I have watched feature new or new-ish box vans like Sprinters/Promasters/etc. My van (a 2003 E350) has quite an uneven floor. What is the best method to prep it for a level floor?

A friend of mine suggested framing the perimeter with 2-3 inch wood, and then cross framing to the perimeter. I'd then put various size shims under the cross framing to support the floor so it doesn't flex with weight on it. My only concern with this method is that I'll be losing precious height in the van.

Greetings and Welcome!

That doesn't look all that bad to me...  When you said cargo van, I was envisioning a 3'x4' 8-10" deep dent.

I'd just do 1/2 inch plywood, insulation, then flooring.  The plywood should be more than stury enough to even everything out.

Cheers!
