Title: Inverter Cutting Out?
Post by: mellowVELO on March 10, 2017, 12:33:48 PM
Hi guys,

Currently building an Ambulance into a camper van. I want to run an Xbox One, Monitor, and Speakers through the inverter.

I have 2x220ah batteries and a 500w/1000w inverter. There is standard voltage drop from batteries to the inverter, however, after 10min the inverter cuts out with a red light.

I think it means it's either too hot or power overload.

The total power going through it was 205w give or take, and even if the inverter is running 400w with 90% efficiency it should still be enough?

It's a blue pure sign inverter bought off eBay for 50-60quid. Has anyone any experience with the values quoted not being as powerful in real life?

The speaker is 19v, would that make any difference?

Also the 2x220ah batteries are in parallel, and the inverter just attached to one? Does that make a difference?

Any help would be great!!

Thanks

Bry

How many watts is the whole set up. Monitor xbox etc. If its more than 500w it will probably only work above that for a short burst.

Just my guess. I've not got round to sorting an inverter yet myself.
