Title: LDV Convoy
Post by: Hamartea on March 07, 2015, 01:29:03 AM
There seems to be many LDV Convoy owners here, is there a particular reason? For example do you get a lot of living space for your money?

Yes. They're fairly roomy inside. All told from the dashboard to the back of the van it's about 14' long by 6' wide by 6' high inside.

The van itself is small enough (for me anyway) to get down the narrowest of Cornish lanes.

Parking is fairly easy in them and the fuel economy on average is pretty good for a 3.5t van.

The bog standard Ford Transit 2.5TD LDV Convoy van for example on a long run if you stick to just above 50mph will return up to 48mpg and parts are typically fairly easy to source (and cheap).

Couldn't of put it better CVT. That and the simplicity and being able to work on it myself

Gotta hold up my quarter here, I love my Transit. Horses for courses, respect to anyone converting whatever model, more power to the elbow.
