So im looking into what kind of van to get for travelling between climbing destinations during spring and summer months.

Now - no window versions are more frequently available and I guess its also easier to stealth camp in them. However im wondering if you really do want windows for light and feeling of space? Will a can without windows just feel claustrophobic and closed in?

If you're only sleeping in the van or in the van at night then I suppose it doesn't matter about windows. You still have the front windows and the rear doors can be opened when parked at a suitable spot.

You can't reclassify your van as a motorhome if you don't have at least one side window so your insurance will be higher.

You can always add 1 or 2 windows, even if they're small. I wouldn't like the idea of having no windows. If you indoors due to bad weather or just chillin out, it's nice to watch the world go by.

I'd definitely get a normal van and add your own windows, minibuses in my opinion must be a nightmare. They have too many windows which makes them harder to insulate etc.

Thanks for the replies.

Figure i probably will want a window or two, the question then is how expensive that gets. Time to hit google :)

I bought a couple of caravan windows for £70. They're second hand but in great condition, easy to fit too. It's worth looking for a local caravan breakers.
