Hi all. New here, as I just converted an 86 Ford Club Wagon. Having a mechanical issue I'm wondering if anyone can solve? It runs fine on highway, made it from Wisconsin to Houston in 2 days. But now when I get into heavy traffic or stop-and-go areas it often dies when I slow down too far. Anyone know what could be causing this? I'm willing to take it to a shop but thought I'd ask and see if it's possibly something I could handle myself. Any input appreciated. Thanks

Greetings & Welcome!

I had a similar problem with a similar van.  On mine, after a long trip the idle adjustment screw would back itself out a little, causing the idle speed to be too low.

After several times at this, I added some loc-tite to the idle screw, and that solved the problem.

Good luck,  and keep us posted.
