Hi
I have a Ford Transit van which has a secondary battery installed and is charged with a split charge relay. There is a power cable run to the rear to power an inverter. I want to run a Karcher power washer rated at 2100 Watts and a Karcher vacuum cleaner rated at 600 Watts at the same time. I really need some advice on which dual socket power inverter would be suited to do the job. I was first told that i need to add the watts together and times by 10%. I have also been told that because i want to run a power washer i need to times it by 2???
Is there a power inverter big enough for the job, if not can 2 inverters be run at the same time off the secondary battery or do i look for a bigger power source from a generator.
Any feed back would be a massive help

Greetings!

My apologies for the late reply!

Okay, first the formula, add the watts together, 2100+600=2700 (per hour), add 25% for inefficiencies  2700+675=3375 watts (per hour)

Multiply that by the maximum number of hours you would possibly run them.

It would be crazy to try this kind of a load on battery power, you need a generator.  Probably about a 5kw one should do.

Cheers!
