Van Conversion Products: Tools

Here are some of the tools that I used and recommend for my van conversion

Timber: 12mm x 44mm

This is what I used for for the cladding frame. The cladding fixes to this using 3mm screws

Timber: 22mm x 47mm

General frame construction. I used this mostly for the kitchen

Timber: 19mm x 32mm

Used mostly for the bathroom stud frame wall (the horizontal bits)

Screw: 4mm x 30mm

General wood screw used all over my van

Door Catch (Magnetic)

Used on the cupboard doors to stop them swinging open whilst driving. Need 2 on each door

Toggle Bolt

Useful for when you can’t get a bolt behind a panel. I used these for my hammock fixings

Danish Oil

Used mostly for the bathroom stud frame wall (the horizontal bits)

Sealant/Adhesive

For sealing and gluing. A general PU adhesive works just as well.

Modesty Block

Many useful applications like fixing things to the floor or wall

Screw: 3mm x 25mm

I used these screws mainly for fixing the cladding in place

Door Catch (Roller)

I used these for my drawers to keep them from coming out whilst driving

Silicone

Used around the kitchen unit and in the bathroom. Non-mold silicone is important
