Title: Wild camping in Italy
Post by: angharadabra on April 19, 2017, 08:13:35 AM
Hello all :)

I have read everywhere that wild camping isn't tolerated in Italy, however I find it difficult to believe that this is absolute!

We are planning on heading to Lake Como, Garda & Venice.

Can anyone give any enlightenment on how they found free campin in Italy? And wit No venice, apparently we won't be able to drive into the city - so where is the best place to park close to public transport?

:)

Greetings!

Is it possible that you're using the wrong terminology?

Some chateaus/vineyards in France alow you to park for 1 or 2 nights, often for free, they just suggest that you may wish to buy a bottle of wine.

There ARE plenty of paid campsites...

You might want to search for free camping rather than wild camping, if that's what you're looking for.

Good Luck!
