Van Conversion / Advice on dimensions
May 31, 2018, 08:12:05 PM
Hello lovely van folk. I'm in the preliminary, contemplative stage of camper-van life.
If I CAN make this outline work, this'd be my ideal setup.
I don't want a giant van, for eco, as well as practical (parking, fitting down roads) reasons, so would be looking at a MWB Sprinter, the internal dimensions of which this website (https://www.grs.co.uk/panel-van-dimensions) tells me are: 336 cm x 135 cm.
The dimensions I have given for the different areas/aspects.
Sofa/bed = 180 x 110 cm - ; Hob, sink, fridge uni = 80 x 40 cm - ; Shower, toilet = 60 x 60 cm - ; Wood-burner = 45 x 45 cm - ; Cladding = 5 cm (1.5cm ply + 3.5cm insulation).
Lengthwise, 180 + 80 + 60 + 5 + 5 = 330 cm. A whole 6 cm's to play around with.

I can't seem to attach a picture, but it would be, one side: toilet, kitchenette, sofabed, otherside: wood burner, sofa bed.

Sofa bed to consist of two sofas opposite each other that turn into one bed.

Questions (for now): A: Are these dimensions practical? B: If not, what needs changing? C: Is that enough room for cladding? D: Van not included, how much do you think it'd cost to get this done?
