I am currently renovating and converting a 1970's Citroen HY van so that I can travel Europe and enjoy some summers away.
I found this site whilst looking for conversion ideas and have become hooked, so much so that I started my own blog:

Both my blog and my van are a long way off finished but I'd love to see what vans people have and what they have done inside to make it home.
My ride is currently non-existent as I'm out of MOT. Been a busy week repairing the old girl and also making some upcycled furniture.
Here she is (Bella):
I'm from the states. I have been wanting to do something like this. But finding the right van for what I want is the big deal. Right now I am talking to a guy with a 1996 Kenworth with a 26 feet box van. I know it is big but if all goes well it should be a place you can live out of. And the diesel it will run on old cooking oil and I can rebuild the motor with no problems. If I can get this van I will post picks and if not the search will go on. What I want is something like the tiny houses people are building here but as a self contained unit. If anyone is interested look up tumbleweedhouses.com. And being retired with money coming in each month would be a great way to live.
Hello DJFArmer
What about an old school bus? I know you can pick those up pretty cheap over there. Or how about an old U-Haul truck?
I'm going to agree with CVT on this for in the USA. Bus conversions make good sense.
This be mine. Took me about 4 months to convert. Now has done about 8K across Europe.
