Depends on what you want to use it for. Travelling/living/ or just short trips.
How many peeps are you going to be ferrying about?

I'm ere!

How about this for a £10 bike rack.  Can fit the his n hers bike on, no probs.

Anybody used the Royan, France ferry, would cut out a 200 klm ride. Priced about 45€ for a camping car.

Thanks guys, heading up to Kent, Mums nearly 90 so gotta see her and the family.
Would take the ferry across there to Calais but I'm bored with that route. So coming down to Poole or Plymouth, wanna revisit Carnac before the billion tourists get there.
Love that coast.

My new laptop should keep me involved, hotspot searching skills to the fore.

Got mine for £180 but the lower spec models are a bit cheaper. The reason I picked it was connectivity and it is better than my stand alone tower I have indoors. These days we need to keep in contact with peeps at home and keep an eye on finances whilst travelling.

Especially when we take the Bike abroad cos we are booking cheepy hostels etc a few days ahead.
We find it's the most economical way these days to travel across Europe when you can't sleep in your own snailshell . Patrick.

Here's a prickly topic Mark. What do you do about exchanging the ole Queens dosh for a more pliable Euro.
Sometimes I earn a few quid, (Euro) teaching or doing a bit of carpentry. But you have to take it as it comes, we had a good run of luck a few years ago wardening on Eurocamps site, for a few months. Kept us wandering for a few more.
Hate to carry to much money, would like to have some for a start! Taking from the bank abroad is expensive, not found an ideal solution as yet.
So I thought I'd toss it out there as a thread .......

Hi Mark.
We have just bought a 11 inch Acer Aspire E3, just for that reason. Why 11 inch?
So we can tuck it away and carry it in a small rucksack as well on the Bike.
It has no fan, great power manager and is really fast. 4gb ram and 500gb h/disk.
So can store all the foto's from the digi camera.
Especially made with Skype loaded for contact, really works well and lasts at least 8 hours on the battery.
Mrs has a 7 inch tablet but I hate how fiddly it is and has limited capabilities, and it's getting old (tablet that is).
Great for watching movies and music especially as I have a set of small speakers and can access my Itunes on the cloud.
We never carry a tv, we have 360 degrees of scenery to watch and an excellent supply of cheap vino to hand.
