That's a bit weird, just doing my daily yoga with 'Faithless - Reverence' at high base levels and thinking, (yep sometimes), could be misconstrued as deep meditation.
Thought ... one of the most important bits of equipment in the van for us is a means of playing music. We don't have a tele, our cabaret at a campsite is watching peeps turn up and try and tune in, up goes the oyster, or dish out of the door, followed by hours worth of fiddling.
Maybe a small laptop with stored movies or music vids downloaded from Youtube, is the length we will go to. Why travel hundreds of miles to experience other peeps food and lifestyles, then bung up the dreaded antennae to switch on Corrie.
So if you're like us, what media do you use to get sounds. I bought a good multi-player, ie car stereo with every type of orifice, usb, small jack, bluetooth. and wired it up to a good speaker system in the sleeping/eating area. That way we don't have to clomp thru to the driver section to turn it on or off.
Now we have connection to all out music collection, phone, laptop, MP3 and memory sticks, plus the good ole cd of course.
When we lived in Spain we used to DJ , keroke and quiz night it, bought in a nice bit of dosh and we did something we loved. So we have over 80gb of music. Our fave is chillout vocal mixes, and all the way from Sade to Tom Petty.
Nice thread!
I'm looking forward to going through this when I'm on Wifi. Yes for Ozric tentacles and Tinariwen - I discovered Tinariwen whilst travelling and ever since I've heard them everywhere. Really really good music.
OK so here is some of my favourite African stuff:
Ali Farka Touré - Allah Uya: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=339uFnhymM4
Amadou & Mariam - Coulibaly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kp9cmTNaMw
William Onyeabor - Something You'll Never Forget: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGjDxCGqC4U
Listening to William Onyeabor a lot at the moment. I've never heard anything like it!

'Faithless - Reverence'
Got 3 Faithless CD's here in the van. I LOVE IT! Belt that out at full volume from time to time in the middle of nowhere, jump out of the van on the full moon and dancing around like a mad man is just the best feeling ever.
Faithless - Insomnia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHVJVQzHv5Q
Faithless - Salva Mea https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aSVNLYMWjA
Faithless - God is a DJ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSYk6s46xkk

Well since you asked, music is a massive part of our travels and we are always looking for new tunes, well I am, Dawn likes her classic rock and I admit to liking it to so first choice is hers
Bruce Springsteen The Boss - The River https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAB4vOkL6cE
Next is mine, we bought tickets to see these in a seafrony park in Nice this June so our travels will take us there.
Fat Freddys Drop - Midnight Marauders https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wirn-iQel3w
hoping for some of this when we get there.
I just discovered
Beats Antique - Beauty Beats https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJcU3NjovKg
and love love the Egyptian/Turkish/Tabla sounds they provide
Old faithfuls take our time up too.
KC and The Sunshine Band - I Get Lifted https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BU0Vu5AmLlU
Gets our funk on and makes us dance
Cocorosie - Lemonade https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu3EcAHdHlE

And last night I came across
Manu Delago - Silver Kobalt https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLPyu-vyaEc
and I see they are on a tour in Europe this spring so will try and get to one of the gigs somewhere.
Our list is endless and looking at yours above and now having to listen to every tune that comes on this thread it will only grow. Fat Freddys Drop definately gets played the most in our van but we give everything a chance at least once
My taste seems to be a bit different to you guys so far but I'll share anyway!
I mainly listen to reggae, but also like to check out singer/songwriters on youtube.
My favourite reggae group is Toots and the Maytals - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRSwjhYmAY4
Nahko Bear is one of my favourites at the moment too, I only discovered his music around a year or so ago and have lots of his stuff saved on my phone and laptop. My favourite of his has to be Manifesto - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQBqtBgelnI
Then there is Xavier Rudd. Some of his stuff I'm not into, but a lot of his tracks are really nice. I especially like Messages and Twist...
