Hello All,
After 20+ years of building and flying drones I decided to somewhat retire and build a mobile drone adventure/surveillance van that i can travel the country and share amazing locations that others would not be able to visit.
My biggest goal was for me to fly the drone from inside the vehicle, safe and secure, away from the elements. Below is a short video of drone operation.
Ill be posting a "van tour" and "build" video soon...
I hope you enjoy

Greetings and Welcome!
I get the external antenna, but why the moving launch pad?
I did like the video, and from me that's a huge compliment!
We'll look forward hearing more from you and seeing more of your adventures.
Cheers!
Hello Dan, i appreciate the kind words. The motorized landing pad is to stop "Compass Errors" by moving the drone away from the metal of van.. The phantoms have the compass built in the feet of the drone so if you set it on your car or near metal you will get a compass error and not be able to take off.. this solves that problem... In the beginning I tired to take off from the green roof pad but the metal was still a problem even with it elevated a couple inches and on 1in thick wood.
Greetings!
Thank you for the explanation, I know virtually nothing about drones other than I think they're really cool.
I've spent much of my life trying to keep things simple, but I also enjoy learning why some things must be more complicated.
Cheers!
