Hello, I am in the process of choosing a van for a conversion. I'm on a limited budget and have an option of buying a Renault Master fridge van that has been part converted. The inside has been wood cladded with a bed and kitchen built. He has told me it's great for insulation as it has been a fridge van. It has a roof vent and a window. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of converted fridge vans and if they are a good or bad thing? I can only find limited info on this?
Any help would be really appreciated as i'm going to look at it tomorrow.

Obviously check the engine, trans, rust, steering, and suspension.

On self builds, check for leaks where they've added windows or roof vents, as well as the way they installed them.

Wood interiors are heavy, and can make the van top heavy.  Can also severely hurt gas mileage.

Check Renault forums for known issues with that particular year/make/model of van.
