Welcome to the sami village of Nikkaluokta in Swedish Lapland.
No one is here this time of year (November). I drove here in my van to experience the swedish wilderness… and incredible night skies
We stayed for a several days camping in the van until the cold was unbearable and the roads faded into the landscape due to snow.
So let me show you Nikkaluokta, by campervan…
Nikkaluokta is here…

It’s only accessible by this one road

Go down here if you want mountains

Camp here in your van
Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fcyhzWHYbfLtMqxy9

From here you walk

19km hike to Sweden’s highest mountain: Kebnekaise

Part of the Scandinavian mountains, known as the ‘Scandes’

Don’t head back before sunset

Instead make a fire

Cook some food

And enjoy the show

Walk home in the dark

Where the Aurora continues into the night

If you want Swedish mountains and amazing hikes, Nikkaluokta (the above) is where you go, as well as Abisko. These are the two main entry points to the Swedish mountains, and access to The kings Trail.
See post: The Wonders of Abisko National Park – by van & foot
Nikkaluokta is definitely a place to come back to in Spring or autumn when it’s not so dangerous to do the longer hikes.
