The best way to get around in Spain

valencia-skate

One of my favourite things about Spain is how so many people use roller blades and skateboards to get around. There are so many long stretches of nice tarmac along the coast and even in the biggest cities – Seville, Valencia and Madrid have so much space. Personal wheels – this is how cities should be got around.

Some improvements to my longboard

My trucks had really hard bushes in which made turning corners pretty tough. I replaced them for extra soft ones to make the board way more manoeuvrable.

I picked these up from a skate shop in Valencia (I’ll try and find the name).

Next, I drilled a 2.5mm hole at each end of the board and threaded a loop of string through so it could be hung up in the van. I’ll also drill another hole so I can put a bike lock through it.

I only dreamt of having Abec-7 bearings in my roller blades as a kid. This thing flies!
