We’ve been ignoring the list of ‘Europe wild-camping spots’ (see post) recently to find our own places. I was excited to find such a great spot from looking for clues on the map (e.g. dead-end grey roads through a lake) and driving to it. It is always hit and miss but I think I’m starting to get better at finding a nice spot.
Location: N39 32.643 W1 32.120 – about 80 miles N.W of Valencia
We arrived minutes before for sun set, I jumped out and took this photo and then started recording the sound of the frogs, birds and fish jumping out the water to add to my sound library.
No moon and clear sky. I lay on the roof of the van and watched the nearly constant shooting stars. I can’t remember the last time I saw a sky this good.
Me and Ross took the picture (above) at about 1am. Ross held the torch from the right (the very edge of the bright LED Maglite just hitting the van). Exposure is 30s, iso3200, f4.5.
This spot was so good; we marked the occasion by making something special – rocky road by the lake
